Fair Housing At Wellness Housing
Wellness Housing is an Equal Housing Opportunity provider. This page explains our policy and how to ask for a reasonable accommodation.
Wellness Housing is an Equal Housing Opportunity provider. We do business in accordance with the federal Fair Housing Act and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, ancestry, marital status, source of income, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other characteristic protected by law.
Fair Housing At Wellness Housing
Everyone who calls, applies or is referred is handled through the same process. We accept General Relief through Los Angeles County DPSS, the DPSS Pilot Program, the START Program and other rent assistance, and how your rent is paid never changes how your application is treated.
Reasonable Accommodations And Modifications
If you have a disability, you can ask for a reasonable accommodation, which is a change to a rule, policy or practice, or a reasonable modification, which is a physical change, when it is needed for you to have an equal opportunity to use and enjoy the housing. You can ask at any time, before or after you move in, by phone, by email or in person, and someone can make the request on your behalf. You do not need to use any special words or form. We may ask for information that confirms the need when it is not obvious, but we will not ask for your diagnosis or medical records.
Call 562-716-4568, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm Pacific, or email info@wellnesshousing.org.
Assistance Animals At Wellness Housing
The houses have a no pets rule. An assistance animal, such as a service animal or an emotional support animal for a person with a disability, is not a pet. A request to live with one is handled as a reasonable accommodation, through the same process described above.
How Wellness Housing Applies These Rules
The house rules are written down and given to every resident before move in, and they apply the same way to everyone in a house. We do not ask about a disability, a diagnosis or treatment history when you call or apply. If something about our process gets in your way, tell us and we will look at it.
